Living with three older sisters was never an easy task. It wasn't that Pippin didn't like Pearl, Pimpernel, and Pervinca -rather the opposite actually- but there were certainly some days (especially when they were being particularly girly or particularly bossy) when he wished he was an only child like Merry, or better yet, simply had Merry as his brother - they were too much like brothers anyway. One of the only good things that did come about having three girls in his home who could never quite hate him for more than an hour was that in all the years they'd been together, they still hadn't gotten accustomed enough to Pippin's antics enough not to be bothered. And that made them wonderful targets. He never did anything too bad to them, no, of course not, but what kind of little brother would he be if he didn't give them proper reason to watch their backs once a week and twice on Tuesday. Today was a Friday, but Pippin had made an exception to his normal schedule because they'd been doing something with a visitor for the past few hours and well, he didn't have all that much to be doing himself.
He walked past the room they chatted in about something or other into the kitchens without as much as a wayward glace of suspicion. Remaining silent as could, he searched the cabinets for something suitable (not for a meal, not this time). He set a jar of syrupy preserves on the counter top and unscrewed the lid, wiggled it around to make sure it was fresh enough, and then took a bit of a taste (for testing purposes, of course, heh). Deeming it suitable, he took the open jar and snuck his way back out, this time crouching outside the door and coating the doorknob in the ultimately rather sticky substance. Realizing he'd shut the door on himself, he hastily hid the jar among a shelf of books and nick-nacks in the room. He doubted anyone would notice. He hoped they wouldn't, too early on, at least. Then he went out the front door and to the water jug with the spout. A rock he found only a few feet away fit snugly in the opening and would make for a nice misdirected shower to whoever was unfortunate enough to try washing their hands. More than content with his little set up, Pippin simply positioned himself somewhere he wouldn't be seen and waited.
He waited for what he would consider a long time, although, it certainly could have been longer, before one of the girls made a sound to assure him his plan was easily in motion. He hid himself a little better as the conversation got louder, both due to nearing siblings and irritation in their tone. Yes, yes, how dare someone not wash their hands before closing the door. Disgusting. Blah blah blah. He bit his lip to keep from laughing. The door closed and, to his pleasant surprise, not only was it Pervinca holding out her sticky hands, but Pearl as well, who'd come to help her wash them off. Pearl hoisted up the lever that would -were there not a rock jammed up it- have released a stream of water onto Pervinca's waiting hands. Instead though, it got stuck. He probably should have tested that out. She tried again. "Pimpernel, come here and help me with this!" Footsteps told him that she wasn't far. Together, the two jerked the level and water shot out like a rocket. Brilliant. Just brilliant, he was. Three...two...one. "PIPPIN!" He made sure it looked like he was coming from the other direction. "Yes?" He couldn't quite keep the smile from his eyes as he tilted his head in feigned confusion at the three very wet hobbits. "Oh. I didn't know it rained today. I planned on going out. Can I borrow your umbrella?" He grinned good-naturedly at the trio. And then set eyes on the other hobbit, who he didn't even know had come out. He nodded his head politely - well, as much as he could with that mischievous beam plastered on his face. "Well hello Miss. Would you care to go for a walk? Best do it now before that rain starts up again. Looked very nasty, it did, if these lovely ladies are any indication."
ooc: hope this is okay. i took quite a few liberties with...just about everything lol. and well.. i don't even know what i did. if you want anything changed just let me know <3

It had been a rather boring day. Diamond had been sent over to play with her sisters' friends, the Tooks, and of course it was always interesting- Pearl, Pimpernel, and Pervinca always were nice to her, and the antics that went along in the house with their brother, Pippin, were interesting as well- and a lot of the time they were just downright hilarious. It gave Dia plenty of ideas for when she returned home to her own sisters- needless to say, she did think up her own schemes and pranks, too. It wasn't like she didn't. She just happened to enjoy the ones Pippin did, too, and of course she'd have to try it for herself.
A lot of the time, her sisters would come with her when they visited their friends. But today, it seemed they all had something "important" to do, which annoyed Diamond to no ends, especially since she knew that nothing they had to do was "important". Past that, it always seemed like Dia was the one who was tagging along with them, so having to go alone was just plain weird. She didn't like it one bit. And so there she was, stuck sitting properly and politely listening to whatever the three sisters were talking about, and it was dead boring. She had to nod at the right times and laugh at the right times and smile at them the entire time even though she wasn't listening half the time. These were all those "etiquette" things her mother was always trying to teach her, along with her sisters of course, but to no avail. Diamond didn't care about those things. She just wanted to go outside and play!
Finally it seemed as if all her waiting had paid off. Pervinca suggested a stroll, so the four of them started outside. But when Pervinca touched the doorknob, she let out a little squeal. She was shaking, and her hand was covered in a sticky substance. Immediately Diamond began to giggle, but held her hand over her mouth and looked upward and to the side a bit in an "innocent" fashion as Pearl tried to help Pervinca release her hands. All that ended up with was the two of them having sticky hands and the door actually being opened. "We'll have to go wash them off," someone said, and Diamond felt herself following them outside, just out of habit- she hadn't really paid attention since the first time the sticky substance was discovered.
Still chuckling a bit to herself, Diamond was glad to recover a bit so that they (hopefully) wouldn't notice that she had been laughing at them. Her mother would never let that one go, because though they might not, her mother would most definitely blame the prank on her. Because it was an utterly Diamond-like thing to do.
However, when the girls began trying to wash their hands, after a couple tries of getting the water pump to work, water sprayed all over them. "PIPPIN!" Pearl screeched. And there came Pippin around the corner, doing a poor job of pretending he was innocent. The whole event was hilarious to Diamond, and now she was really laughing, doubled over with tears coming from the corners of her eyes. Oh yes, her mother would definitely get her in trouble for this, but she couldn't help it, and anyway, a laugh was a laugh, and they were always pleasant, and Diamond loved to laugh.
It took a few seconds to register that Pippin was now talking to her. "Diamond," she managed to get out between laughs, and then forced herself to stand up straight and take a deep breath, letting out a sigh afterward, somehow able to stop herself from laughing. "And sure!" she gave a small wave over to the drenched and irritated sisters and began to walk toward Pippin instead. Besides, all she'd be hearing about otherwise for the next few hours were how "terrible" Pippin was and how they'd "never get the stickiness or the smell off" their hands, and truthfully, hearing them rant about Pippin was even more boring than their regular talk, because it was extremely repetitive. Diamond welcomed a chance to escape with open arms, especially if it was to go on a walk with Pippin- when it came to pranks, he knew his stuff, and she definitely wanted to get some advice and ideas from him.
OOC: Nooo I loved it! <3 That post made me laugh like all the way through :'D Let me know if this is okay~

Pippin was pleased to see the visiting hobbit -Diamond, as she'd said she was- laugh. And not just a little bit to herself, but to the point she almost couldn't give him her name. It was great. He always enjoyed amusing people. It was one of the main reasons -other than for his own enjoyment- that he did many of the things he did. He'd half expected Diamond to groan and shriek and be generally like his sisters at the effects of his prank but instead she was struggling to contain herself to the point Pippin was sure one who didn't know any better might have thought she played a part in the scheme. Pippin didn't know her very well, but he could already tell that that was something he wanted to change very soon. His sisters always hogged the attention of family and friends unless they were at a party, and he was usually okay with that, but Diamond, she was much too fun for the likes of them. How she'd gone this long without getting bored he'd never know. But both their woes were now solved.
When she agreed to take a walk with him he grinned and held up a finger. He went back through the door -with the clean side of the knob mind you "You really should wash this off" he called- and returned with Pearl's umbrella. He opened it above his head and made a little show before he held it out as an offer (maybe a peace offer it'd have been if it wasn't so entirely mocking) to the three wet siblings. Pimpernel finally stopped glaring him down for long enough to snatch it from his hand, probably with the logic that it was safer with them than with Pippin. In fact, had Pippin and Diamond taken off with it, the chances of it returning home in one piece were entirely slim. Still, the youngest of the Took's couldn't resist another jibe about the oncoming storm. Or past had storm. Or... his sisters were wet. And it was still funny.
"Come on then Diamond!" he continued before anyone could remark. He started down the path away from his home with a little wave for her to follow. Once they were out of the three girl's immediate earshot, he spoke again. "How do you put up with them?.. How do I put up with them? Other than, well, like that. I'd introduce myself, but I think they did that for me. If you missed the screaming though, well first of all you're very lucky. Secondly, I'm Pippin." He considered adding a little something to that, but she'd already seen enough from him. At least for the moment. First impressions were the best impressions and the most forgetless sort but he was still trying to figure this particular hobbit out. "So, where would you like to go?" A walk, of course, could mean many things. It wasn't after all so much the fact you were waklling as where you were walking too and what kind of fun you could have while you were getting there. He hoped he was right about her and she'd choose something interesting.
ooc: I did like it, lots. Dia's becoming a favorite with me. Sorry this one's shorter.

Diamond had thought that she'd stopped herself from laughing, at least till she was out of earshot of the girls, but that thought and belief was short-lived once Pippin started talking again. Quite possibly, he was the funniest hobbit she'd ever met! And very clever, too- it seemed the funniness came naturally to him. Either way, there she was, laughing again, although this time it was a bit quieter as she was trying very hard to hide it behind her hand- not that it was doing much good as one could clearly see the laughter in her eyes. So hiding it was really a lost cause, but she did anyway, just so that they could tell she was trying and that there was a certain amount of effort there, so perhaps they wouldn't be too angry at her (although really she was more worried about her mother and sisters being angry with her, because they would probably rant about it for quite a long time).
Finally she was able to escape, and so she followed Pippin down the path. They walked for a little while, Diamond completely composed at this point, or at least mostly, until Pippin asked her a question. She chuckled a little bit when he introduced himself- this was by far the best introduction to someone she'd ever had, starting with a prank and ending with a joke- and then began thinking of an answer to his second question, of where she would like to go. But first, she answered his first question. She might as well answer the two of them in order, after all- it would make more sense that way, in the long run.
Diamond shrugged and then answered, "I have to put up with them. They're really more like my sisters' friends, but all of them were busy today with 'important business', which I doubt. So they sent me as their sacrifice instead." she answered with a small sigh, emphasizing "important business" by saying it in an imitation of one of her sisters' voices. "It's nice to meet you, Pippin." she added with a smile- Diamond was almost always smiling, unless she was dead bored, like she usually was when spending any amount of time with her own sisters or Pippin's sisters- or the worst combination, which would be spending time with her sisters and his sisters.
She thought once more for a few seconds before answering his second question. "Somewhere exciting, like an adventure!" she said cheerfully. She loved adventures. She was always "running amuck" as her mother would say, around her own home, looking for interesting, fun things to try, and mostly just looking for an interesting adventure. It looked like today she'd already found one.
OOC: Haha well thank you. I was gonna say that I'm loving this thread already but i thought it might be weird since we've barely started, but.. XD And that's ok, I just had a random burst of muse ;]
