Faramir | Captain & Steward-Prince of Gondor | Thirty-five | Against Sauron
Faramir is Denethor (II)'s son and Boromir's younger brother. Despite being captain of Gondor and trained as a soldier, he despises fighting, preferring the arts instead. His duty now, however, is to protect Gondor, so he can only be found within the kingdom.
Friends While courteous to those he meets, it takes a long time for Faramir to grow close to another -- so far, he's only close to Boromir and Gandalf/Mithrandir. He may call you a friend, but that's usually for politeness' sake. Still, he can provide amiable company, though not after taking a (very) long some time to judge whether he can trust you or not.
Enemies Anyone/thing on Sauron's side, basically. I can also imagine some of his father's 'followers' seeing him as a threat to the ruling stewards.
Lovers Love, to Faramir, whether purely platonic or involving sexual attraction, cannot be moulded: he cannot possibly pick someone out and transform them into what he desires; rather, he can only wait for them to come along as what he desires. So bring on the White Lady of Rohan.

First I want to say...hello. xD It's awesome that you made Faramir! Anyway....
Frodo and Faramir: Well...it all depends on how they end up meeting each other eventually, as the site is au and all that. But I think that overall Frodo would truly respect and be thankful that Faramir is not like Boromir in the idea that the ring needs to be brought to Gondor and by so doing to Denethor and all that. I'd sound more intelligent and all that with my ideas, but it's late for me so I'll just say I think Frodo would really enjoy his company and in the end see him as a good friend. Anything to add?
Saerwen and Faramir: He probably won't like her. Or maybe he will. It all depends on in what mood they both are in, and on what side she chooses to be on at the time. Saerwen is an elf, but she kind of just goes where she pleases, and if that means on occasion appearing where Faramir is and doing things that either support or cause damage to him....well she'll do it. xP So I don't know how he'd feel about her. Saerwen just has lived for a long enough time that she's got a fairly negative outlook on the chances that Sauron will be defeated and all that. So I don't know here...they could occasionally get along and be sort-of-friends. Or he can just hate her. It's all up to you really. Saerwen generally has a negative view on men, but a few do on occasion surprise her. Thoughts?

Hello to you too. And thank you.
Frodo && Faramir Faramir would be very curious about Frodo -- not to mention Hobbit culture. Depending on the situation, Frodo might have to stand through a long, long interrogation, but if he meets Faramir with Gandalf (and Boromir) by his side, Faramir would be quite quick to trust him. Faramir would definitely try to persuade Boromir to not take the ring to Denethor.
Saerwen && Faramir I really like Saerwen. His views on her would definitely depend on the situation, but overall he would understand her negative outlook. He would be rather anxious around her, since he's never encountered an elf before, but if she does not appear to be a threat to Gondor, he wouldn't mind her presence (that much). Yet if she destroys his plans/defense one way or another, he would very much want to.. well, get rid of her.

Frodo and Faramir: That sounds interesting. =] And since Faramir would be persuading Boromir to keep the ring from Denethor, if that situation came up of course, I think Frodo would really appreciate and admire Faramir for going against what his father and brother might want and to do the right thing. And even if it were a lengthy interrogation or whatever, I think Frodo would still come to think that Faramir's a great person, and would probably feel more comfortable around him than Boromir honestly, but yeah. We can hopefully thread them some point in the near future.
Saerwen and Faramir: Understanding I think is probably a good step to...something. lol. Saerwen would probably respect Faramir and see him as a good captain and whatever, if she had the chance to watch him work, while being a good person. I think she'd also probably get a private delight out of that if she knew he'd never met an elf, by either playing around with how elves are viewed and ruining the notion of their grace for him, or trying to be better than everybody. I don't know. lol. But I think it would be interesting to thread them both ways...one time her helping him, and one not.

hellooo! i'm excited to see a Faramir on the site at last <3
éowyn&faramir I think we know how this goes, but it'd be fun to rp them meeting before they both almost die, don't you think? xD
aranel&faramir I can see them getting along, at least. Perhaps they won't be friends, but I think Aranel will mostly trust Faramir. She has no reason not to; he has a good heart. So yeah, while they might not be friends at least i can see them getting along when and if they do meet.
diamond&faramir well as Dia and Pippin eventually name their son after Faramir, I assume that at some point they must have met and become friends. Maybe she only meets Faramir after all the Ring stuff, through Pippin, but I know they must be friends at some point ^^
pandora&faramir Hm. I can see Pandora liking Faramir and wanting to befriend him, mostly because of his life in general lol. She might feel bad for him because of his father, and if they ever met, she'd urge him to be his own person, I think. What he would think of that, I'm not quite sure.
add/modify/delete anything, i'm kinda museless as far as ideas go atm XDD

Frodo && Faramir Yes, yes, everything. Yes.
Saerwen && Faramir Saerwen would have to watch him from behind a bush or tree -- otherwise, she would be seen as a distraction. O-oh goodness, yes, she can very much ruin his views on elves. In fact, I can imagine her helping him out at first, then refusing to help him when he gets in trouble a second time and thinks she would help (...him get out of quicksand or something rather trivial).
Eowyn && Faramir c: Yes, definitely. They can meet at Mering Stream, since it marks the border of Gondor and Rohan -- Eowyn on the west side of the stream and Faramir starting on the east? He can accidentally fall in and swim into Rohan.
Aranel && Faramir Aranel would be rather intimidating to Faramir, solely due to her being an elf. Her trading products would interest him greatly, though, not to mention her books, if she brings along any with her.
Diamond && Faramir More hobbits for Faramir! He would think of her as a rather innocent being, and so would appreciate her presence. It's not everyday a soldier of Gondor gets to see a ball/bundle of fun & adventures.
Pandora && Faramir Again, the whole elf business would intimidate him. He would appreciate her cheerful attitude, as well as her love for music and nature. He would be quite fond, even protective, of her due to the fact that they are both different. He would also appreciate her urgings, but if she does it too much, he would be reminded of his isolation and enter some sort of emotional roller coaster.

If these two meet, they'll be like soul brothers~! They're both second sons whose whole lives have been tainted by their fathers expectations... I think they'd find each others company truly peaceful and accepting. we should make them meet so that they can become best friends for life. I can imagine them spending whole nights just talking about the arts over some old books, and being found asleep where they're sat the next morning~? <3 Up to you! xxxx

Nim && Faramir While I do agree with them being best friends and finding peace and acceptance within each others' company, the chances of Faramir staying up all night with Nim would be quite low, as he needs as much sleep as he can get for all the energy he uses every day to protect Gondor. ...Not saying this wouldn't happen once, though. We must thread these two.

Well, I'm sure if it happens once, they'll both have an organisational rethink to make sure it never happens again ;P. But yes, that sounds perfect~! And threading them would be lovely, but I'm struggling to think of a reason they might meet? xx

Nim && Faramir All I can think of is Nim simply walking into Gondor while Faramir is on duty and asking him about the Fellowship, which includes mentioning Boromir. Not in the city, though; more like a... stream or hill or random woodland. I mean, that's just how you'll have to meet your best friend of a different race during a war.

Haha~! That'd have to be it. Gondor is amazingly off route for Nim... but not impossible, I suppose. If you want to go for it, we can always thread? xx
