Samwise Gamgee
“There’s some good in this world…and it’s worth fighting for."
full name, Samwise Gamgee
nicknames, Sam, Samwis Gamwich, Samwise Gammidgy, Samwise Gardner, Samwise the Brave, Banazîr
age, Sam was born on April 6th, 2980 T.0. That would mean that age-wise, he is about 32 years old.
class/profession, Sam is of the middle-class although his family tended to be farmers or gardeners. This is because in Hobbiton, most of the Hobbits work in the fields or close to nature.
marital status, single
race, Hobbit
alliance, Sam is a member of the Fellowship.
hair, Sam’s hair is a dark shade of dirty blonde resting directly above his shoulders in the back. His hair then rises up to his ears and to his forehead. The texture of his hair is curly and fairly thick.
eyes, His eyes are a dark shade of brown. His eyes give off a powerful sensation of weariness and dreadfulness from the long, exhausting trip he has had so far. Compared to what he has to come, he has seen nothing yet.
build and body, Because Sam comes from the Hobbit race, he stands at a little bit taller than half the size of an average man. It is to be guessed that he is 3’8. He is considered slightly overweight even though most Hobbits eat 8-9 meals a day. His feet are large, hairy, and filthy from always walking around barefoot.

likes, Frodo~ It has been a long journey so far and he probably never would have made it this far if it weren’t for Frodo. Ever since the two of them were younglings, they have been the best of friends. A life without Frodo to Sam would be like a life without nature by your side.
Rivendell~ It has always been a dream of Sam’s to visit the one and only Rivendell. A beautiful city occupied by some of the most interesting elves ever. It seemed like the most wonderful place to be for Sam, at least until the little mishaps that occurred right before the four hobbits got there.
Shire~ After being attacked by the Ringwraiths, Sam wanted nothing more than to return home. There was no threat of the outside world in the Shire therefore making it a safe and sound society for Hobbits.
Justice~ Being born and raised in the Shire, Sam was used to a life of peace and happiness. The only crimes committed in the Shire were a couple of kids setting off firecrackers. Being on a journey through the unknown woods, Sam’s view began to change of the wonderful life away from home and he began to appreciate the safety and justice given to him within the borders of the Shire.
Nature~ Hobbits tend to get along with nature and appreciate its beauty. Sam is a gardener and understands the delicacy and dangers of nature. He knows if he respects nature, nature will not harm him. As for other living creatures, well, nature doesn’t have control over them.
dislikes, Ringwraiths~ Battling any type of creature is not easy nor fun. Though he is not very strong or brave, he is willing to risk his life for Frodo by throwing himself in the path of the Ringwraiths. Of course, being defeated by them did not make Sam happy either.
Disloyalty~ Sent on a quest by Gandalf himself, Sam knew he had to return Frodo alive. Whenever Frodo ran off in the distance, Sam would begin to worry about Frodo’s life and his own. He knew that losing track of Frodo would be like disrespecting and dishonoring Gandalf which no one should do.
Tag alongs~ Merry and Pippin was a distraction and a danger at first. The reasons Sam let them tag along were them being close friends and getting chased into the woods with them. Merry and Pippins were close but they were a distraction and would be put in danger following Frodo and Sam.
Rudeness~ Sam knows that there is no point to excessively rude behavior; with that said, he can’t stand even being near people like that. It seems like such a small thing to worry about but for a hobbit like Sam, it is a big deal. Though he can handle small amounts of it, once you get to death or injuries, Sam will blow up with anger.
Caves~ Sam is definitely not the one who wanted to go in the cave the most and is probably one of the more cautious ones in there. The tunnels are dark, creepy, and not that welcoming. Even though Sam cannot see into the future, he has a feeling something is going to go wrong.
strengths, Cleverness~ If it weren’t for Frodo’s time and effort, Sam probably would have been as short minded as any other Hobbit. With the help of Frodo, he was able to picture he goodness in the world and not just the evil beyond the borders of Hobbiton.
Poetry~ Same as cleverness, he was taught everything he knows about poetry from Frodo and seems to be excelling in it. It is a place where he can let his thoughts and emotions flow out of him and into others. He can express his love for nature or even Hobbiton.
Reliable~ Frodo is able to trust Sam with his life on this quest and Sam proves Frodo that he made a good choice by risking his own life to save Frodo’s. During this quest, Sam is indeed more worried about Frodo’s life than his own.
Honest~ Sam is open to the truth and is willing to reveal his wrong doings. He takes up to his actions and will fix or at least try to fix what he has done.
Trustworthy~ After listening in on Gandalf and Frodo’s deep discussion, Gandalf puts the ring and Frodo’s life in Sam’s hands trusting that he will return them to safety. It only takes one mishap to lose the both of them to the ringwraiths. Therefore it is deeply important that they make it to the mountain alive.
weaknesses, Cautious~ Sam can over the top cautious sometimes therefore making everything ten times harder than it needs to be. He freaked out when Frodo went a little too far ahead, when Pippin and Merry popped out of nowhere and when Aragorn came out to help. He was not open to bringing Aragorn along until he proved himself reliable.
Fearful~ Everyone has fears, but sometimes Sam’s fears get in the way of things. Sometimes Sam can be heroic but a lot of pressure is being put on Sam with this quest to destroy the ring.
Hunger~ Being a Hobbit, Sam is used to eating 9 to 11 meals a day. He tries to sneak in meals whenever he can but they tend to end up in disasters.
Carelessness~ Due to the hunger issue, Sam, Pippin, and Merry start a fire so they could cook a midnight snack. Once Frodo awoke, he began to freak out but for the right reasons. Moments later, the ringwraiths find their location and attack leaving the hobbits almost defenseless.
Scared~ Sam’s dream was to visit Rivendell as you all know, but because of his fear, he wanted to leave the moment they reached there. It was sad to think his favorite place was the last place he wanted to be but it was true. All he wanted to do was go home.
fears, Sam has a fear of spiders, especially when they are bigger than him. They are vicious creatures that try to eat you when you invade their territory. He is not too fond of the dangerous parts of the outside world like the forests or mountains. Sam knows that the marvelous towns provide protection but in the woods, anything goes.
dreams, First, Sam’s dream was to visit Rivendell until they ran into the ringwraiths. After that, his dream became to return home safely without losing anyone. What Gandalf told them in Rivendell did not reassure Sam that his dream would come true.
personality, As Sam was growing up, he was not on the well side therefore he did not pick up any greedy or self-centered traits. He was tutored by Frodo and his intelligence improved so much that his attitude towards life changed. He was able to see what the world truly was thereby making him a wiser person. It is not common for any Hobbit to be cruel or evil in anyway. Sam was just an all-around nice guy. He had his respect for nature and the elders but also knew how to have some sometimes. Frodo and he always went to parties or dances that were occurring. They would relax or dance with the ladies.
When the quest began, Sam’s personality began to shift to more aware and cautious. There was no more joking around for he knew every moment was a fight with death. On this trip, death could be hiding in ringwraiths, orcs, spiders, or even companions. Sam knew the end was near and that they would destroy the ring or die trying. Nothing was more important in his eyes.

father, Hamfast Gamgee, good relationship, not told much about him.
mother, Bell Goodchild, good relationship, not told much about her.
siblings, He has two brothers: Hamson, Halfred. He has three sisters: Daisy, May, Marigold.
other figures, Frodo Baggins, best friend, takes Sam along with him on the journey to destroy the ring.
lineage, Hobbiton
history, Sam grew up in the town known as Hobbiton with his father, mother, and five siblings. They were not a poor family but everyone needed to work to put food on the table. Sam was a gardener for the Baggins and every once in a while, Frodo would tutor him in the knowledge of the outside world and poetry. These lessons began to strengthen the bond between the two Hobbits leading to a close friendly relationship. One day, Sam was working on the garden for Frodo when he overheard Gandalf’s lecture about the ring. As Sam drew closer to the window, he tripped and was caught by Gandalf. Since Sam heard just about everything, Gandalf ordered Sam to embark on the journey with Frodo to Rivendell where Gandalf would reach in contact with them again.
The two of them began the journey the next morning being told to only travel through daylight. They ran into Merry and Pippin near the edge of Hobbiton when they noticed that the ringwraiths had caught onto their trail. The four of them made a run for it until they reached a town across the river. Sam and Frodo spent the night there where they meet Aragorn and continued their journey until they reached Rivendell. The council then decided to send Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, Sam, and a few other people to destroy the ring. Frodo needed to travel to the place where the ring was built and destroy it.

rp sample,Sam stood, frozen, watching in horror as the roof above him began to collapse. It was as if Death was mocking him waiting for the right moment to finish Sam off. As his death approached, Sam’s life began to flash through his eyes. The memories came to a halt when Sam was lifted off his feet by a mysterious creature. The spot where Sam once stood vanished as the room plunged into complete darkness. Something must have hit the creature holding him for the two of them toppled over onto the floor. Sam heard another voice in the room but was not able to make it out. As another quake began, more rocks hit the floor in incredible speeds. Sam knew that when someone is dead, they wouldn’t hear anything, see anything, or feel anything, and that is exactly how he felt right now as he was thrown into the air. Chaos arose but he didn’t know where he was headed as he flew through the darkness.
With a thump he hit the floor almost losing consciousness as another person began to speak. All Sam could hear through his right ear was mumbling so he assumed he must have landed on that side of his head. He pulled himself onto his feet and released a sigh of pain. A light appeared from behind him and Sam began to see the silhouette of Pippin. “Thank goodness it’s you; I thought there was something else with us when the roof came down. I wasn’t able to tell if it was a friend or foe.” Pippin seemed relieved until his attention turned to something behind Sam.
It was still too dark to see anything but the light seemed to be coming from the thing walking towards the two Hobbits. As the creature came closer, Sam was able to identify the creature as Ash. Still cautious about Ash’s loyalty, Sam began to complain, “You could have killed us!” Sam face produced a frown as Ash ignored him while requesting that the two Hobbits follow him so they can find a way out. Sam, still regaining focus, heard footsteps from a distance while Ash warned the Hobbits to get behind him. Sam darted behind him waiting for what lurked beyond the darkness.
