Aranel Laeraelin
I chose my fate because such lies that deceive men do not deceive elves.
I knew at the time what was right, and I know the same now.
The faint of heart would not mingle amongst so many races.
I do not stand alone, yet many do not stand alongside me.
This I understand, and so I will not leave this realm.
To flee at such a time would be unwise.

likes, singing, of course she loves to sing, after all, she's an elf; travelling, it's what she does a lot of the time, so one would hope she'd enjoy it; animals, especially woodland creatures and horses; books, she loves to sit outside in tranquil air and read, or even inside, surrounded by a library of books; sunny days, they're good for horseback riding along the trade road.
dislikes, winter/snow, it makes it more difficult to travel the trade route; Mirkwood forest, she will rarely take this passage because she does not like the evil that falls there; Osgiliath, she only traded there once and hated it for being so close to Mordor; Sauron and his evil forces, obviously; evil or corrupt humans, as they end up in ruin along with many innocent humans
strengths, singing, as all elves have this basic talent; language, as she can understand other languages and learn and pick them up quite easily; animal communication, as she has always been able to communicate with creatures that are not human, though not remarkably well, well enough without words; patience, she is rarely upset unless it has something to do with Mordor; kindness, it seems to have no end for her, and she is always willing to help another person in need, no matter what their race or nationality.
weaknesses, homesickness, even though she loves to travel, she still misses her library at home; children, she has always loved children, both elven and otherwise; jewels and gems, they are beautiful and she is attracted to them; flowers, for the same reason; vagueness, she is often too vague with her advice, making her sound indifferent, though she is not.
fears, Mordor is her only true fear; she does not want to see this world be contaminated with evil.
dreams, Just to live peacefully, and if she ever comes in contact with the Fellowship, then she will help them to defeat Mordor to the best of her ability.
personality, For an elf, Aranel is very friendly and easygoing. Though at one time the elves were all this way, it seems as though many who were once cheerful are now stern and fearful, and many are departing to Valinor. Nell on the other hand loves Middle-Earth and all its traits (or most of them at least, excepting the evil that lies in Mordor and its borders) and wants to stay, preferably forever, or at least for a few thousand more years, before she too departs to the Grey Havens and then to Valinor, like her mother.
Aranel is kindhearted, and though she can sometimes be vague, such is the way of the elves. She is compassionate toward other creatures and people, and is always very accepting of them- even dwarves, which is not common for an elf, as the two races are accustomed to hating one another. Even so, it is true that she hates Mordor and all its inhabitants. When it comes to this, she will not be forgiving. She is upset that the land is being destroyed with evil, and though it is not her concern, she often thinks that she should also help to the cause of saving Middle-Earth. Therefore, she does not ignore such a cause if it comes her way, but happily obliges and helps it along.
Otherwise, Aranel is very interested in travel, and is often away from home. When she is home, she can be found in her enormous library of sorts, where all her books are kept, and will be just sitting somewhere, reading for hours on end. She loves all kinds of books, written by elves, hobbits, dwarves, and men alike. It does not matter to her where knowledge comes from, so long as she gains it in the end.

father, Hirgon; her father resides now in Lothlórien, and they are close; though they do not reside in the same village, Aranel visits often during her travels.
mother, Maerwen; she does not see her mother, as she has passed on to Valinor.
siblings, none
other figures, Her husband, Nestaron. They are close (for elves) and do all their travelling together.
lineage, Rivendell
history, Aranel was born in Rivendell about one thousand years ago. She was born one hundred years later than her husband, making her only a bit younger than him in elven years, though it would seem a considerable amount in human years. Even as a child, Nell was fascinated by other races and other countries and cities throughout Middle-Earth. She used to walk along the outskirts of Rivendell and play as a child, pretending to be a man or a dwarf or even a hobbit.
When she got a bit older, and much wiser, she began to discover new things, and her father would allow her past the realm of her own home and to travel to nearby towns. After exploring as far as Bree, Aranel knew what she wanted to do in her immortal life; she wanted to travel and learn many things about new countries. And so, within the next hundred years, she established her own trade route, following in the footsteps of others who had also taken the path of trader.
When Aranel was perhaps around eight or nine hundred years old, she was married to Nestaron, an elf she had always admired. They began travelling together and shared many interests and good times. They are seldom seen one without the other. Aranel soon wishes to begin her own family, as she dearly loves children, and wants to share all her knowledge with them.
