The Rules

First off, may you be humbly welcomed to Death be not Proud. Thank you for taking the time to read over our rules and we hope to see you around the site.

1. This site follows the rules of Proboards Terms of Service. This means we are PG-13, with allowance to limited profanity, violence, and other mature content. Anything that violates this to an extreme degree will receive a warning and then be taken down off the site.

2. You may register with any name you like so long as it's appropriate, but after you've applied please change your display name to the name of your character in all lowercase letters. We are a one character per account site, but there is currently no limit on characters or ratios. We only ask that you don't take more than you can handle.

3. Activity is important here. We like to see people logging on and we like to see people posting. There will be monthly activity checks and if you aren't accounted for your characters will be put back up for grabs. We have a rule instilled for canon characters requiring at least one in character thread post per week. If you can't manage that, your characters will be considered inactive and put back up for claiming.

4. As a fantasy roleplay, we're very open to unique ideas, situations, and characters. However, if you'd like to do something like killing off a character, getting someone pregnant, or you'd like your character to have a canonized relationship, please ask permission from an admin before proceeding. We like to keep a certain amount of control over these things and promise to get back to you on them ASAP. We ask that you stay as true as possible to the world of JRR Tolkien and create characters which are believable.

5. No form of power-playing or godmodding will be accepted. We know with some characters this may be hard but make sure if you're going to use any sort of powers to change or harm another character you have their play's consent first. Otherwise, make sure their character is given a change to react. You wouldn't like to be turning into a troll against your will either, would you?

6. While we do not have a word count, we'd like to consider ourselves a semi-literate roleplaying site and expect people to put forth their best effort to write posts of good quality. Again, you're not required to match the person you're playing with, but do at least try to give them something to respond to. It's only polite. Nothing on this site, from apps to post content, may be stolen or copied from any source.

7. Most importantly, no forms of disrespect, hatred, harassment, or bullying towards staff or member will be tolerated. Members that break this rule will be warned only once and if it proceeds they will be banned. Treat other's the way you wish to be treated. If you treat someone badly, we can only do the same in return.
