Our story starts on 21st December 2012- the day the sun never rose. Electricity all over the planet came to a halt and a blanket of darkness fell over everything. Some humans stayed inside their houses; these were the clever ones. Others decided to investigate these strange happenings, consequently, only a small number of these people returned.
What they saw made no sense to the humans, it was as if the barrier between life and death had been broken down. Angels- some 'good' some 'bad'- were walking the earth, joined by their ghostly allies.
On the morning of 22nd December 2012, the sun rose once again and the humans could now see though they still remained without power. They learnt more of these beings which now shared their planet.
One half of the angels became known as the Dark Angels and seemed to be Hell-bent on making sure humans' lives were as miserable and tough as possible. Sometimes the Dark Angels even attacked humans, causing nothing but chaos, death and destruction. These angels are believed to be responsible for the lack of electricity.
Guardian Angels (also know to some as Light Angels) are, and have always been, enemies to the Dark Angels. Guardian Angels protect the human race. Some even have specific humans to protect. They try to right the wrongs of the Dark Angels and have been known to try and convert some of their opponents.
The third and final new type of being now on Earth are ghosts. Most ghosts haunt a particular place or person though a minority just roam the streets in search of their loved ones that they had left behind. Ghosts also have a choice between which side they join: Dark or Light. Then again, some ghosts choose not to get involved with the angels at all.
