He nodded wordlessly. Legolas too did not doubt that this journey would be testing and trying for them all. He dared not try to imagine the possibilities of what might happen were they to fail. Not to them, not to everyone in Middle Earth. He did not think they would meet such distaster though. No; were he so unconfident he'd never have joined the fellowship. He had great faith in skill and the heart of his companions, and the stregnth and the courage that Tari had so said they would need.
Despite the fact that her light shone brighter as she directed it towards him, it was not such the physical light but the feeling that he followed with his mind's eye. He realized finally that it was not her energy he was observing, but his own, which she'd made point to show him without him realizing. Rather than simply observing her now, he focused on himself, on the flicker inspired by her flame. Of course, it was not only her. But her who had helped him realize what he was aiming for, whod brought sights he wished to see and feelings he wished to experiance into his mind so that he might see past the darkness through the stregnth of himself and his companions.
He hadnt told her whether or not he believed he could do it, because he did not know, but he had done it none the less and she would surely see. Eyes curiously wide, he looked again to her hand, and then at his own. He ventured past them, to the sleeping forms and the carvern walls. They had not changed, but seemed less daunting and less ready to crumble and suffocate. It was a wonder to think that a small change in himself could bring about new feelings towards his surroundings, but one couldnt challenge what they were experiancing and it was like watching the world through a different set of eyes. "Thank you Tari."
