likes,
+MAGIC
Why wouldn't Gandalf like magic he is a wizard of sorts after all. He has been seen using it quite often. Though the one thing that Gandalf knows is that magic requires respect and constraint of use. Willy nilly magic use is something he frowns upon.
+TEACHING
Gandalf likes to teach others. Pre Ring, he had spent much time with the elves learning and teaching them. However, everyday it seems is a lesson. It doesn't matter where he is or who he is with, he seems to teach even if he doesn't try.
=LEARNING
As much as an old man teaches, they also always learn. Gandalf has learned many things over the years. Mostly about Middle Earth. The mortals there have taught him much.
+ADVENTURE
Believe it or not the crazy old fool still loves adventure. The ventures of him and Bilbo prove that. His quests are always wild and dangerous, but that's what one gets when being around Gandalf. One dizzying adventure after another.
+RACES
Mortals of all sorts fascinate him. Middle Earth is full of amazing beings. Luckily Gandalf has gotten to see many of them. He enjoys the ever changing that they go through.
dislikes,
+EVIL
Gandalf is for the good of all. He does not like evil in the world. He would smite any evil that would come to harm his friends and beloved ones. Gandalf believes whats right and just.
+DARK LORD
Ashamed of the one of the other of the Five he does not like the dark lord. He believes that the man should be gone. The dark lord and Gandalf are long time rivals. However, he would not mention that to anyone.
+UNKNOWN
When unknown elements are placed on the field it flusters Gandalf. When he cannot forsee some events in ruffles his robes so to say. Compensating for these inconveniences are a migraine for him. In some cases it can even scare and old wizard like him too.
+HANGOVERS
Gandalf tries to avoid taverns. Mead is something he does enjoy, and if he drinks enough of it, it can leave him with hangovers. In the mornings these can be painful. He doesn't like how it can muddle with his mind.
+PAIN
No sane person would like this. Gandalf has seen much of this and in some ways experienced it. He knows pain is something given out of anger. Which this only makes his despise towards the dark lord greater.
strengths,
+WISDOM
The term wisdom comes with age, applies to Gandalf. He is a bucket full of wisdom and knowledge. He shares this often with others. Most of the time through common talk.
+VIRTUE
Gandalf has many virtues. From loyalty to his friends. To courage on the battlefield. To justice in the kingdoms. He honors and upholds all.
+MAGIC
Being a wizard he does have magic as a strength. He can do things most cannot, which makes him look powerful. However, as powerful as he is he does not flaunt. Gandalf knows that the best strength about magic is constraint of use.
+LOVE
Love does not have to be mushy. Love is the care for others, not just romance. Gandalf loves his friends. So much that he would sacrifice everything for them.
+STUBBORN
Gandalf is a stubborn old wizard. He doesn't give up on anything. He will keep going even if it runs him down. A great man goes down swinging.
weaknesses,
+OVER TRUST
Gandalf can over trust sometimes. When he does this makes him seem more vulnerable. This can sometimes can end up getting him hurt. Even for a wizard he can make mistakes.
+AGE
Just cause Gandalf is almost what seems to be ageless, he looks aged. this sometimes even shows through travels. It can slow him down a bit and that can be a problem. But he tries not to show weakness.
+IMMORTALITY
This is a blessing and a burden. Immortality makes it so that the one who is immortal lonely. They have to leave those they love behind. Outlasting those one loves is a hard thing.
+TEMPER
No temper out matches a wizards. This sometimes can get the better of Gandalf. A wizards wrath is something furious and never should be crossed lightly. Especially in the case of the fierce Gandalf.
+DEATH
Death can even find the greatest of creature. Gandalf is no exception. All things eventually must die. That includes even the greatest wizard of all of Middle Earth.
fears,
+The Dark Lords return.
+Dying at all before its time to.
+Not being able to help Middle Earth
dreams,
+To see Middle Earth in peace again.
+To put the Dark Lord fully out of the game.
+To leave a legacy to be told for generations.
personality,
Gandalf is a very patient man. Talking to him is not a problem. Gandalf is very social most of the time. He can be found attending many a social occasion such as festivals and parties. He enjoys doing fireworks and some minor magic for people. Also he is known to tell stories and legends. Old men always have things to tell. Most often he can be caught with a pipe in hand when he talks.
Being an old man he has his impish old man ways of mischief. His smile usually says it all. In some case with how much he can be mischievous its a wonder he gets people to follow him. It almost would make one think there should be an old woman or witch to take a wooden spoon to him when he would be slightly old man naughty. On the other hand, he doesn't always try but he naturally is very wise and knowledgeable. Being a Grand Wizard means knowing a lot of things from facts to opinions. It makes him an encyclopedia of worldly stuff. So if someone needs to know something he's the person to go to.
More often than not these days he prefers his study and his solitude with a good book. However, if given the chance he would plunge head first still into something great and or adventurous. The one with Bilbo is a fine example of such. He wouldn't admit it but he found it exciting and thrilling. Gandalf, much like his predecessors is very mysterious in his ways. Vanishing is one of them often. Getting to know a straight answer some times is very hard. Even when one does, sometimes its wrapped up in riddles.

history,
PRE RING
Before Bilbo, before the ring, Gandalf traveled the world of Middle Earth amongst the races. He spent much time with the elves. However, not too many decades before the war of the one ring, Gandalf had requested Bilbo a hobbit of the shire to join him on a quest. The old wizard, Bilbo, and 13 dwarves set off on a quest for gold that had belonged to them. On this trip they came across large birds (friends of Gandalfs), trolls, and goblins. They found the gold, which had been stolen by a dragon. In the fight and defeat of the dragon and of the goblins, Gandalf had found his sword as did Bilbo. But what Gandalf did not foresee was the finding of the one ring by a hobbit. Not realizing that the one ring was in Bilbo's possession and had been from a creature named Gollum, they had gone back to the shire. However, something felt off about the ring Bilbo possessed and so Gandalf went to pursue his hunch, which later he would come to find to be correct.
THE FELLOWSHIP & THE WAR OF THE RING
After Bilbo's departure of his own birthday party to leave for the elves, Gandalf concluded his hunch to be true in the hearth of the Baggin's. The fire did not destroy the ring. Thus Frodo's life was in danger. Having the hobbit leave, he sent him and three unwelcome at first hobbit companions on a journey to figure out what to do with the one ring. At this time Gandalf went to talk at the tower to find answers, however, he had found that the tower had been lost to the dark lord and Gandalf was on his own. He luckily returned to them and the elves city. There, the fate of the ring was decided. It would be casted back into the fire from which it was wrought. Gandalf would of protested agaist a hobbit going but even the will of something so small could have heart enough for something so big. However, Gandalf decided to go along with them as far as he could to make sure that nothing got in the way of the fellowship. Gandalf knew that this was going to either be the make or break of Middle Earth. Their journey being a long and tough one, Gandalf would be by the fellowships side the best he could. No matter where they were at.

rp sample,The dark halls of the mines made Gandalfs blood run cold even for the wise man he was. Those halls were not something to tread idly, but with caution. It's darkness was disturbing, though in its eerie silence. What more the feeling of dread scourged invisible claws into Gandalfs marrow. He did not like being there. He could feel things there that he dared not hope be. the signs of no life did not help however, in stiffing that deep hold. He hoped that most of there passage would be in silence.
Yet that unknown fear lead him to hunch otherwise. This were not going to go well, this he had a urge towards. Mostly cause he had a few Hobbits in his midst that seemed to cause more ruckus that he would prefer. Gripping his staff he stayed close to them, all of them, hoping that what he feared was not true. He trusted that most of them would keep each other safe if something did occur. Wearily he stared around, his face as expressionless as the stone walls that lay around them. He was ready for anything to happen. Gandalf just wished to himself that this hadn't to of been the only way.
